30hop Restaurant & Bar in Cedar Rapids is looking for an Assistant General Manager to join our leadership team!

We’re looking for someone who enjoys leading people, jumping into the day-to-day operations, and helping create a restaurant environment where both Guests and employees have a great experience. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on supporting the team, keeping operations running smoothly, and helping drive the overall success of the restaurant.

30hop is a Midwest-based restaurant and bar with locations across multiple states and plans for continued growth. We’re passionate about great food, genuine hospitality, and creating opportunities for people who want to grow their careers in the restaurant industry.

As an AGM, you’ll work closely with the General Manager to help lead the team, support training and development, maintain service and operational standards, and create the energetic atmosphere 30hop is known for.

Compensation starts at $55,000+ annually based on experience, with additional quarterly incentive bonus opportunities available.

Full-time staff BENEFITS: Available for all full-time employees who work 40 hours per week or more on average.

Leadership Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Lead by example and help create accountability across the front-of-house team
  • Support fast, friendly, and attentive service standards during all shifts
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly L10 leadership meetings
  • Help foster a positive, team driven restaurant culture
  • Consistently enforce company policies, procedures, and operational standards
  • Assist the General Manager and Chef with labor management, inventory, ordering, and cost control initiatives
  • Maintain restaurant standards related to cleanliness, organization, maintenance, and daily operational execution
  • Assist with performance reviews, coaching conversations, and employee development
  • Support administrative responsibilities including onboarding paperwork, invoices, communication follow-up, and operational reporting
  • Promote clear, professional communication while following proper chain-of-command processes

Essential Functions

  • Coach and develop front-of-house employees while reinforcing hospitality and service standards
  • Assist in building and managing FOH schedules based on staffing needs, business trends, and events
  • Lead pre-shift meetings and daily team communication
  • Support FOH hiring, onboarding, training, development, discipline, and recognition efforts
  • Ensure teams have the tools, resources, and checklists needed for successful execution
  • Complete daily cash handling and safe balancing procedures accurately
  • Assist with inventory counts and operational tracking processes
  • Drive employee development and leadership growth within the FOH team
  • Demonstrate versatility across all front-of-house operations
  • Monitor facility and equipment needs and communicate repair concerns promptly
  • Engage with guests regularly to improve the overall dining experience and build guest loyalty
  • Support initiatives that drive sales growth and operational performance
  • Assist with additional operational responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of restaurant management experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development abilities
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem solving skills
  • Experience in high volume, hospitality driven environments preferred
  • Entrepreneurial and growth oriented mindset
  • Ability to obtain ServSafe certification within 30 days of employment
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
