Buyer – Indirect Procurement

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Buyer to support procurement activities across operations, facilities, and corporate functions. This role is responsible for sourcing and managing indirect goods and services that support manufacturing operations, office functions, and overall business needs.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and effective communicator with strong negotiation skills and a solid understanding of procurement best practices. This position works closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment to ensure materials, services, and equipment are sourced efficiently and delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Management
Source, negotiate, and procure indirect goods and services including office supplies, IT equipment, manufacturing tools, maintenance services, and other non-production related items.

Supplier Management
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and reliable delivery performance.

Cost Optimization
Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities while monitoring spending to ensure alignment with departmental budgets.

Contract Administration
Draft, review, and manage supplier agreements and contracts while ensuring compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations.

Market Research
Analyze market trends, evaluate supplier capabilities, and identify new sourcing opportunities to support operational needs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with departments including operations, finance, IT, facilities, and administration to understand procurement requirements and provide effective sourcing solutions.

Inventory Oversight
Monitor inventory levels for indirect materials to maintain appropriate stock levels and prevent operational disruptions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of procurement or purchasing experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Proven experience negotiating pricing, contracts, and supplier agreements.

Experience working with procurement systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly share information and maintain alignment across stakeholders.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment.
