Civil Superintendent

Position Overview
CD&H, Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Superintendent to oversee civil construction operations for a project based in Ponca City, Oklahoma. The Civil Superintendent will be responsible for managing daily field operations, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring that construction activities are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications.
This position plays a critical leadership role in the successful delivery of our civil construction projects and requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to determine project needs and ensure successful execution of work.
Plan and oversee construction processes and daily field activities.
Set performance goals and schedules to ensure projects remain on track.
Supervise field staff and subcontractors while providing leadership and constructive feedback.
Monitor project progress and report updates to management.
Estimate costs and assist in maintaining project budgets.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Plan inspections and obtain necessary construction permits from local authorities.
Order equipment and coordinate maintenance when needed.
Track material inventory and coordinate deliveries to maintain workflow.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site.
Identify and resolve on-site issues, conflicts, or emergencies efficiently.
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of experience in civil construction or related construction work.
Previous experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar leadership role preferred.
Strong understanding of construction operations, scheduling, and site management.
Knowledge of local safety, health, and quality standards for construction job sites.
Familiarity with CAD software and construction drawings.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Excellent organizational, leadership, and time-management skills.
Ability to lead crews and coordinate with multiple project stakeholders.
High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
Working Conditions
This position requires working outdoors at construction job sites and may involve exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, loud noise, moving equipment, and varying weather conditions. Employees must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which may include hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, respirators, H2S monitors, flame-resistant clothing, or fall protection harnesses depending on site requirements.
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands and arms.
Occasional climbing, kneeling, crouching, or balancing.
Ability to lift or carry 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Must have adequate vision including close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
