Key responsibilities for Embroidery and Screen printing
Embroidery operations (primary)
- Operate and maintain multi-head commercial embroidery machines, such as Tajima, Barudan, or Ricoma, to produce high-volume, high-quality products.
- Follow work orders to determine embroidery location, thread colors, and design specifications.
- Execute machine setup, including hooping various materials (garments, hats, etc.), loading threads, and aligning designs accurately.
- Monitor machine performance throughout production, troubleshooting minor issues, and adjusting settings to maintain quality.
- Perform essential maintenance, such as cleaning, oiling, and making minor repairs, to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Inspect all finished embroidery for quality, trimming threads, and ensuring final products meet the company's standards.
Embroidery digitizing (primary)
- Use specialized software, such as Hatch 3, Wilcom or Pulse, to convert customer artwork into digitized embroidery files (.DST, .PES, etc.).
- Analyze artwork and determine the most effective stitching techniques, densities, and underlay for optimal embroidery results.
- Edit and prepare design files for production, ensuring they are properly sized, positioned, and sequenced for the multi-head machines.
- Maintain an organized digital library of all completed design files and stitch-outs.
- Test new designs and make adjustments to ensure they stitch cleanly and accurately.
Screen printing (secondary)
- Assist with screen printing operations, including setting up and operating manual or automatic presses.
- Prepare and reclaim screens, ensuring they are properly exposed and cleaned for production.
- Mix inks to match specified Pantone colors and monitor ink quality and application during runs.
- Perform test prints and quality checks to ensure proper registration, alignment, and color accuracy.
- Work with production teams to maintain an efficient workflow and meet production schedules.
Required qualifications
- Embroidery Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience operating commercial multi-head embroidery machines, preferably Tajima.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer literacy is required, along with the ability to manage and organize digital files.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for ensuring the highest quality in all embroidery and screen-printed products.
- Communication: Effective communication and the ability to work collaboratively with a production team are essential.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift and move items up to 35lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
Preferred qualifications
- Digitizing Experience: Experience with embroidery digitizing software like Hatch, Wilcom, or Pulse is highly desirable.
- Screen Printing Experience: Prior experience in screen printing, including press operation, screen prep, and color mixing, is a significant plus.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on both embroidery and screen printing equipment.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges in design, production, and machine operation.
- Workflow Management: Familiarity with managing a full production workflow from artwork to finished goods.
