Job Description
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide full supervision and leadership for service crews performing crane and rigging operations, including mobilization, set-up, lifts, disassembly, retrograde, and subcontractor oversight.
  • Maintain close coordination with operations, dispatch, project managers, and customers to ensure proper planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for each project.
  • Understand project scopes, site requirements, and customer specifications; provide direction to ensure alignment with service contracts and safety standards.
  • Assist in developing, reviewing, and adjusting lift plans as field conditions and customer needs evolve.
  • Manage day-to-day service activities, including planning daily work sequences, adjusting to unexpected challenges, and evaluating the performance of crews and equipment.
  • Prioritize and enforce strict adherence to safety practices for personnel, rigging procedures, and the care and operation of cranes and support equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, NCCCO, and industry regulations regarding cranes and rigging operations.
  • Participate in daily or pre-job planning meetings; communicate clear work plans to crews; and contribute to broader scheduling discussions with project stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, contractors, subcontractors, and equipment suppliers to ensure successful service delivery.
  • Train, mentor, and support field teams in crane safety, rigging best practices, and proper equipment use. Must be knowledgeable in current crane operating standards and mechanical aspects of Rough Terrain and Crawler cranes.
  • Oversee equipment readiness and coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure cranes and rigging gear are properly inspected, serviced, and certified.
  • Travel frequently to job sites, often requiring extended hours and hands-on leadership in the field.

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of crane, rigging, or heavy lift experience; supervisory background required
  • Strong knowledge of crane operations (RT, Crawler), rigging practices, and OSHA/NCCCO standards
  • Proven leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills in field operations
  • Ability to document daily activities and communicate effectively with crews and clients
  • Flexible to travel extensively and work extended hours
  • Valid driver’s license; must pass drug screen, fit-for-duty test, and background check
