Position: Center Assistant
Program and Location: Head Start, Ogallala
Position Summary: The Center Assistant provides support to staff.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in classroom as needed by implementing daily lesson plan, assisting in record keeping, documentation, providing classroom breaks.
- Assist with meal and snack distribution and clean up.
- Assist staff with ensuring classroom inventories are stocked.
- Assist in implementation of oral health practices as needed.
- Assist with general housekeeping of the center.
- Be actively engaged in all Head Start activities and model appropriate behavior.
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED. Consideration will be given to individuals working towards GED.
Required Skills:
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the general public as well as other agency employees.
- Model appropriate/professional behavior.
- Previous experience working with children preferred.
Schedule/Hours: 25 hours per week for 36 weeks per year, Monday through Friday. Approximate hours are between 8:00 am – 1:00 pm.
Pay Rate: Starting pay is $15.00 per hour.
