Title: Hydrovac Skilled Laborer
Wage: $26.00 - $28.00
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly
Group: National Hydro Excavation Services
Reports to: Field Supervisor/Hydrovac Operator
The Hydrovac Skilled Laborer is responsible for assisting the Hydrovac Operator in successfully completing all Hydrovac duties and projects.
Essential Functions
Complete and assist in the completion of daily pre-jobs and other required safety procedures
Assist the Hydrovac Operator with daily inspections and ensure the equipment is ready to go
Spot driver and other operators while driving onsite, working near buildings and other items that
can be damaged due to hydrovac operations
Assist the driver in the mobilization and demobilization of the truck
Aid operators or any other member of the team in any way needed/requested

Competencies
Knowledge of basic underground utilities
Skills in operating heavy equipment and machines proficiently and safely
Ability to use time and equipment efficiently to complete projects on time
Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
Work Environment
The work environment is typically loud, and the use of ear protection such as earplugs may be necessary. Hydrovac operations are performed outdoors at client facilities or job sites. Employees may be required to work in inclement weather conditions and occasionally during evenings or weekends. The role also involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, vehicles, and heavy equipment.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to type, talk, and listen. Frequent physical activities include sitting, standing, walking, reaching with arms and hands, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, or crouching. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Adequate visual acuity is required to safely perform all assigned tasks.

This role requires extended hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet project deadlines or support critical operations.
