Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Repairs:
- Perform complex repairs and maintenance on equipment, machinery, or vehicles.
 - Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
 - Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialized machinery as required.
 
 - Quality Assurance:
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
 - Test equipment functionality after repairs or servicing.
 - Maintain high-quality workmanship with attention to detail.
 
 - Customer Service:
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain issues, required repairs, and maintenance recommendations.
 - Provide accurate estimates for time and costs related to repairs.
 - Address customer concerns professionally and promptly.
 
 - Recordkeeping:
- Document all work performed, including parts used and services completed.
 - Maintain accurate logs for preventive maintenance and repairs.
 
 - Mentoring and Training:
- Guide and support apprentices and junior technicians.
 - Share knowledge and ensure adherence to shop protocols and standards.
 
 - Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations within the shop environment.
 - Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
 - Ensure the shop and workstations remain clean, organized, and hazard-free.
 
 
Qualifications:
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
 - Journeyman certification or license (as applicable by trade and location).
 - Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
 - Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
 - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
 - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
 - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
 
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with specialized equipment or technology relevant to the shop's focus.
 - Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
 - Strong understanding of shop workflow and time management.
