Job Overview

The Production Supervisor will direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in production within their production area by following the duties as assigned by the Production Manager. This position ensures that all production parts are produced according to customer and customer specifications and that employees adhere to established work procedures. This position will be responsible for hiring and training department employees, overseeing the department's daily workflow and schedules, conducting timely, constructive performance evaluations, and handling employee discipline and termination in accordance with company policy.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Associate’s degree in Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills, ability to motivate team to reach objectives
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Thorough understanding of raw materials, manufacturing processes, quality control, cost management, and other effective manufacturing techniques
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pre-shift morning meeting with team about Safety, Quality and Productivity
  • Ensure PPE expectations are being met/followed daily by all employees
  • Supervision of employees to include training and development, communication and enforcement of company policies and procedures, performance coaching and evaluation; create and issue written documentation of employee performance issues and attendance issues
  • Schedule and assign employees to appropriate tasks to achieve daily department Safety, Quality, and Production goals
  • Maintain department and meet expected housekeeping goals
  • Record/Maintain all production data on Production boards as trained by Production Manager
  • Arrive prior to shift start time to aid in production employee placement within departments
  • Complete all end-of-shift production, payroll review (ADP and temp timecard), and roster paperwork and submit to the Production Manager for final review
  • Investigate issues related to quality and efficiency and resolve when possible. Involve the Quality Manager and Production Manager as needed. Report unresolved issues to the Quality Manager and Production Manager.
  • Monitor production equipment and report all machine failures to Maintenance Manager
  • Ensure associate safety awareness; strive for continuous improvement in injury reduction
  • Coordinate with other Supervisors to place/rotate production employees as needed to meet daily production goals
  • Manage production employees assigned to department and backfill when needed to ensure production goals are met
  • Perform other miscellaneous jobs as asked by Production Manager or General Manager
  • Approve hourly payroll for processing, handle disciplinary write-ups,
  • At least 50% or more time spent managing people activities, attending meetings, processing paperwork, etc.
